Her wedding day, Helen says, was the best day of her life
Dress shopping was a breezy experience too, although keen not to move too quickly, Helen made sure to try on a ton of dresses before saying yes to the dress… which, just so happened, to be the first one she tried on!
‘I started dress shopping as soon as we booked the venue which was about 11 months before our wedding day. I had been dress shopping the previous year for my best friend’s wedding dress and had an idea of the style I liked,’ she says.
‘I booked three dress shops and the first stop was The White Room in Mullingar with my mum and sister. I knew the first dress I tried on was the one, I absolutely loved it but I thought it was too good to be true so went and tried about another twenty dresses between the three shops.’
‘I found dress shopping quiet overwhelming. It’s like you are thinking about this moment but when it hits, it’s a huge decision especially as the sample dress most likely isn’t your size and you then have to wait 9 months to get it.’
She eventually said I do to that first dress, driving all the way from Wexford to Mullingar to seal the deal and make it hers. ‘I knew as soon as I put it on for the second time it was the one, I shouted ‘yes’ before I even came out of the changing room to show my bridesmaids; they were bawling when they saw it which is always a plus.’
